Tinman Podcast
I’m a former college soccer coach and avid music fan. Many episodes will have a hand in one or both of those topics, but we’ll also explore entrepreneurship, leadership, and other subjects. This podcast is my way to reconnect with old friends, get new perspectives, and help others share their own stories, passions, and expertise.

Jeff Crespi is an award winning photographer who currently serves as the house photographer at The Stone Pony, one of the most iconic music venues in the country. He works in the same capacity at Asbury Lanes and formerly at the Starland Ballroom. As someone who has overcome his struggles with addiction, Jeff’s personal story is just as compelling as the images he captures. He began attending concerts with his then eight year old son a couple of decades ago. At some point he decided to start taking pictures to document their adventures, and that passion has snowballed into a storied career.www.jeffcrespirocks.comSupport the showWe appreciate you listening to the Tinman Podcast! Brian Bennett is a senior editor at The Athletic. He has previously worked for the Louisville Courier Journal and ESPN covering a variety of sports. His passion and current focus is college basketball. Brian helps catch us up on the current landscape of the sport and many people turn their attention that way at the conclusion of football season. We also use the 9:00pm recording time after our kids are in bed as an excuse to enjoy a bourbon. We do live in Kentucky.Support the showWe appreciate you listening to the Tinman Podcast! Jack Harbaugh is the patriarch of one of the most successful families in the history of football. His own resume includes success as a player, being drafted by the Buffalo Bills, coaching under Bo Schembechler at Michigan, and winning a national title as a head coach at Western Kentucky. His son Jim will lead the Michigan Wolverines into the national title game in Houston, while John has earned the top seed in the AFC playoffs with the Baltimore Ravens. Jack has always been known for his energy and enthusiasm for his family and the sport of football. I think both show in this conversation.Support the showWe appreciate you listening to the Tinman Podcast! Ken Rosen is the creator and curator of Estreetshuffle.com, a website/blog dedicated to all things Bruce Springsteen! What started as an outlet to avoid sharing every Bruce fact he knew with his wife has grown into one of the best resources around for Springsteen history, video and audio clips, reviews, essays, and more. It was a thrill to be able to chat with someone who, and I'm not ashamed to say this, is an even bigger Bruce Springsteen nut than I am!https://estreetshuffle.com/DashclipSupport the showWe appreciate you listening to the Tinman Podcast! Hailing from a small town in western Kentucky, Emma has experienced more memorable moments in her sport than most could dream of. We discuss her decorated junior and amateur careers, time at the University of Alabama, and the ups and downs of professional golf. This is a special episode because I get to chat with Joe Tinius, or as I call him, dad. He had some unique influences in his life, was a high level athlete in college, and then spent 38 years in education as a teacher, administrator, and superintendent. The first chapter provides the bookends as he shares his philosophy as an educator and early influences in his life before his arrival at Western Kentucky University. In the second chapter, we talk mostly about his experiences with the cross country and track field programs at WKU, where he ran with and against Olympians and was part of a national runner-up team.CHAPTERS(0:00) Intro, Influences, & Career in Education(29:10) WKU Cross Country, Track, & MoreSupport the showWe appreciate you listening to the Tinman Podcast! Spencer Thomson is a guitarist and producer for the alt-rock band Moon Taxi. We come from the same hometown of Bowling Green, KY, and it's been fun to follow his progression as a musician. Moon Taxi happens to be coming to my current city of Louisville, KY on October 14, so this seemed like a perfect time to re-connect. Spencer was gracious enough to give us a few minutes for this episode during a brief break from the road. We discuss his beginnings as a musician, a brief history of the band, touring, and more. Spencer also has released a solo album, Sonic Dribbles, and has produced, remixed and played guitar for various other musical artists.Support the showWe appreciate you listening to the Tinman Podcast!
