Molly Jones, Director of The Pete Foundation, joins to discuss The Big Stomp, coming to Louisville on July 26 and 27, bringing 40 bands to four different stages. The Big Stomp is a festival that stomps the mental health stigma with an immersive, multi-day experience that takes a fresh, inclusive, modern approach. The Pete Foundation's mission is to rally communities to champion youth mental health and wellness through normalizing the topic, promoting education and providing tools for healthy emotional development. Randy Waldrum (Head Coach, Nigeria Women’s Soccer) prepares for the Olympics

Randy Waldrum is the Head Coach of the Nigerian women's soccer team, which is headed back to the Olympics for the first time in 16 years.  This comes on the heels of their first ever trip to the knock round in last year’s Women’s World Cup, where they took eventual runners-up England to penalty kicks.  He was nice enough to share a few minutes as he prepares to head to France.  Waldrum is one of the most successful coaches in NCAA history.  After coaching both the men’s and women’s teams at Tulsa and starting the women’s program at Baylor, he moved to South Bend to lead Notre Dame’s women for 15 years, winning national championships in 2004 and 2010.  Following a stint in the NWSL with Houston Dash, he is currently the head coach at the University of Pittsburgh. Chris Joslin - Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum / ROMP Festival

Jaelin Howell - Racing Louisville FC, Midfielder

Jaelin Howell, midfielder with Racing Louisville in the NWSL, is known as a hard-nosed player and fierce competitor.  She was a two-time national champion at Florida State and was awarded the Hermann Trophy, college soccer’s equivalent of the Heisman, in 2020 and 2021.  She has also earned multiple caps with the US Women’s National Team.  Being chosen by Louisville as the second overall pick in the 2022 NWSL draft turned out to be quite serendipitous, because as much as she plays all in all the time on the field, her commitment to giving back off the field is just as strong.  Her work with Down Syndrome of Louisville helped her earn the 2023 Nationwide Community Impact Award.  I’ve been a fan for quite a while, and this conversation with Jaelin Howell just solidified what I thought I already knew.Support the showWe appreciate you listening to the Tinman Podcast! Travis Stone, the Voice of Churchill Downs, is preparing to call Kentucky Derby 150, his tenth as track announcer.   He started with a bang calling American Pharoah's victory to start his triple crown campaign, and he's seen a little bit of everything since.  Travis grew up a short drive from another famous track near Saratoga, NY.   A career sparked by a childhood dream, his journey to the announcer's booth started when he raced marbles and matchbox cars on homemade race tracks sketched on his parents’ floors.  Whether he’s painting the picture of a thrilling stretch drive or capturing the sheer excitement of the Derby, Travis brings a perspective to horse racing that’s rooted in passion, honed by years of practice, and delivered with a voice that makes every listener feel like they’re standing alongside him from the best seat in the house.
